Head of Labs
Kendall joined SEI Ventures in 2020 to establish and lead SEI Labs. Previously she led the $80m transformation of the College Board’s Advanced Placement program which delivers 7m exams each year. She oversaw the creation of a full-scale curriculum offering with digital through-year supports for students and teachers.
Kendall was also the founder of an ed-tech startup focused on childcare training for which she was a Y-Combinator finalist. She spent the first ten years of her career at Bain Consulting focused on both strategy + ops and private equity due diligence.
Kendall was on the founding team for Postsecondary Success at the Gates Foundation, supported implementation strategy for Race to the Top at US Department of Education, and has volunteered frequently with organizations such as Year Up and LaGuardia Community College.
Kendall earned an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a BA in Public Policy from Duke University. She is a trained chef, having studied through an online program – ask her about it! Originally from South Carolina, Kendall now lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.

VP, Assessment & Learning Strategy
Nick came to SEI Labs in 2020 to lead the assessment and learning practice. Nick had previously led Strategic Education’s online course development function encompassing curriculum and course design, multimedia development and filmmaking, and edtech product leadership. Nick oversaw the development and expansion of one of the U.S.’s most successful competency-based-education Progams, FlexPath, which is an offering of Capella University. Among the other achievements of Nick’s team were the design of courses for other prestigious universities and corporations, initiatives that led to double digit increases in student retention, the successful transition to all digital learning materials, and the implementation of learning-science based design and quality assurance practices that led to many industry awards.
Nick has a master’s degree in education from Capella University and is a lifelong learner, trying new learning experiences every year. Nick has been a frequent speaker at conferences and has served as the chair of the WCET steering committee, on the WCET executive committee, on the IMS Global Higher Education Executive Board, and currently serves on the IMS Global Digital Credentials Executive Board.
Nick grew up in Berkeley, California and now lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife, three kids, and the cat, Grey. You can see him out daily around the many lakes, running, biking, or swimming, all year around.
